Porn industry is flourishing the last decades. Films, magazines, internet sites (paid membership porn sites), sex toys, clothes, underwear – lingerie etc., are only few pieces of the “porn – sexual industry” puzzle. This industry is based solely on men’s mindset about sex and all its’ aspects…
Men think differently than women, but they also act differently, too. There are major differences in feelings, in emotions, in actions, in communication and in so many other ways. One well-known and very common difference is the man’s prone to nudity… This irresistible desire and the mysterious excitement about it, is by far an exclusive “privilege” of men. It is not surprising that voyeurism is one of man’s –not to be proud of- characteristics. This has caused societies and individuals, minor to major troubles through time…
On the contrary, women don’t feel the same “desire” for nudity, comparing to men. Men for example, are enjoying watching porn-sexual films, more than women do. Sex scenes, naked female bodies, position variations, perversions, anything you can think off, men are most likely excited and enjoy watching… The majority of women though, is not so excited by nudity in general, so they don’t look for such materials i.e. films, photos, magazines etc. (I emphasize the “majority”…)
For both sexes, nudity is directly associated with sexual desire and erection. Desire can be expressed showing interest or with sexual fantasies. Excitement and erection are caused by the brain, which is activated by external or internal stimulations. This is a very complex mechanism to be fully analyzed. All senses are sending signals for process to the brain. Sensual stimulation through vision, hearing, taste, touch and smell, are activating an overall psychological stimulation, which involves also, our fantasy and our memory. These stimulations, combined in quantity and in quality, are creating sexual erection.
The visual stimulations are the most powerful for causing an erection. Vision is the primary sense for more than 70% of men. Vision is like a powerful sexual tool for most men. Visual and auditory stimulations, a powerful combination, can trigger an intense sex drive. Women are more “kinesthetic” types, so they need more time to respond in visual and auditory stimulations. Women need an emotional approach; love, acceptance, tenderness, caring, are all parameters of their sexuality, which can increase or decrease their sex drive. Women opposed to men, are looking for an emotional involvement; that is why nudity doesn’t excite them so much.
Another reason for that difference is the biological factor of their hormones. Male sexuality is strongly affected by testosterone, a major masculine hormone. Women don’t have the same levels of testosterone, so they don’t feel the same urge for “expressing” or channeling their sexual stimulation, biologically speaking.
To be honest and subjective though, today’s women are more “liberated” and “prejudices free”… Yes they do get excited looking men’s nude bodies (at gyms, at beaches, at male strip clubs…), they comment, they gossip or even flirt. Don’t forget that we are dealing with percentages here, in surveys, in scientifical researches and in real life. There are no absolute numbers or red lines…
